Why anyone would spend more than $5 on a keyboard is beyond me. While other peripherals (mice, scanners, printers, monitors, etc.) have and continue to advance, keyboards just haven't.

Sure, entrepreneurial companies have marketed wireless keyboards, keyboards with LCD screens built in, multimedia keys, "ergonomic" split-key layouts, and other such useless crap, but I have yet to see a single, concrete improvement.

Everything you're reading here was typed on a $3, rectangular, PS/2 keyboard... top of the bottom of the line. Of course, I made a stencil and spray-painted over the keys to make it all the more cool...
