First, let me assure you this is not a jab at XKCD. I adore that comic, and respect what he's done for the stick figure genre.

No, this is what it is: a jab at MidPhase. My sites have been hosted on MidPhase for several years. Their support has always been terrible, but up until a few months ago their services were reliable enough that didn't really matter.

But lately... shit.

The site has been unreachable for days at a time, shooting off Internal Server Errors like they were going out of style. Worse still, the entire database got torched... three times. The first time around, my backup was a couple weeks old so I had to re-enter all the comics in between. The second time around I realized the SQL dumps generated by their control panel used the wrong character set, so everything became jarbled unicode.

I'm an easy going guy, but frankly I've had it. This is not a processor intensive site, and there is no reason it should suffer all this downtime.
