I should have been more careful. Dagon has been eying my hat with the fuzzy ball hungrily for a long time. I had it hanging on a hook, and evidently knocked it to the floor on accident.

And that was that.

I have since purchased a new hat, but it is not striped and it has no fuzzy ball on top.
