You can't usually have your cake and eat it too, unless your cake is a fast-growing sponge or mold culture or something.
Long hair is annoying, sure. It's heavy. It pokes out eyes. It clogs drains and vacuums.
Short hair, by contrast, does none of these. It also takes very little time and effort to dry after a shower.
But if one grows bored of short hair, the only course of action is to let it grow ever so slowly into something that can be put into pigtails.
Sigh.
