I hesitated for a long time before purchasing Dagon a stuffed animal toy. It wasn't that I was keen to deprive him of a proper childhood. I was mostly concerned, what with him being a chomping, chewing kinda dog, a stuffed animal would last all of an hour before being de-stuffed.
But on our last trip to the pet store he saw a bright orange squeaky monkey and decided he really, really, really wanted it, so I broke down.
He loves it, and thanks to a no tug-of-war policy, the monkey has remained in one piece.
